Discover and Complete Contacts

Two different actions put contact data into your campaign. They're easy to mix up, so it's worth knowing which is which.

Contact Discovery

Discovery finds the people inside an area you've drawn. Open a turf and choose Discover More Contacts. The turf page tells you how many contacts are available to discover before you commit.

Use this when you're building a universe from scratch: you have a district and you need to know who lives in it.

Contact Completion

Completion fills in the gaps on contacts you already have. Go to Browse, select the contacts you want, and run completion on them. cicada.run adds addresses, emails, and phone numbers where it can find them.

Use this when you already have a list, a walk sheet from the party, an old spreadsheet, a sign-in sheet, and what's missing is a way to reach people.

Contact Credits

Both actions run on Contact Credits. Before either one runs, you'll see a confirmation with the exact count and, if you're past your included credits, the exact dollar amount. Nothing is charged until you confirm.

Your Credit Usage meter on the billing page shows what you've used and what's left. Once you've used all of your allotted credits, further discoveries and completions are charged at the full rate.

What the first election free offer covers

Your first election has no subscription and no setup fee. It does not include free contact data: Discovery and Completion still run on Contact Credits, and you pay for the contacts you pull.

In practice that means you can create your campaign, draw your district, and look at your map the day you sign up without paying anything. You pay at the moment you pull data, and only for what you pull.

Subscriptions

After your first race, plans are on the Billing page of the campaign, starting at $450 per month. Once you're subscribed, the same page becomes Manage Subscription, which opens your billing portal for payment methods, invoices, and cancellation.
