Once contacts are in your campaign, two sections handle the day-to-day work. Find is for pulling up a person or a slice of your universe. Browse is the full table, for sorting and bulk actions.

Find

Type into Filter Contacts to narrow by name. Alongside it you'll find:

  • Filters. Narrow the set you're looking at.

  • Tags. Show only contacts carrying a tag you pick.

  • Sort. Change the order of the results.

Saved searches

When you've built a set of filters you'll want again, open Saved Searches and choose Save Search. Give it a name you'll recognize later, like "Precinct 4 no phone" or "Pledged, not yet given". Loading it back applies the same filters in one click.

Browse

Browse is the whole contact table. Columns include first name, last name, emails, phones, added date, last contacted date, and whether the contact has been completed. Sort by any of them, filter by tags, and select rows for bulk work such as Contact Completion.

Sorting by last contacted date is the fastest way to find who has fallen through the cracks.

Tags

Tags are your own labels, and they're how your campaign's judgment gets recorded alongside the data. Go to Tags, create one with a name and a color, and apply it to contacts, or to everyone in a turf at once with Assign Tags.

Useful ones are the categories you'd otherwise keep in your head: volunteer, yard sign, donor, do not contact, needs a ride to the polls.

Reach a contact

Open a contact and you can Dial, SMS, or Email from the record itself.

Log an activity

Every interaction can be logged on the contact. Pick the type, then the outcome:

  • Call. Successful, No Answer, Left Voicemail, Declined, Callback Requested, Wrong Number, Deceased.

  • Email. Successful, Delivered, Opened, Replied, Bounced, Unsubscribed, No Response.

  • SMS. Successful, Delivered, Replied, Bounced, Unsubscribed, No Response.

  • Virtual Meeting, In-Person Meeting, and Canvass. Successful, No Answer, Declined, Callback Requested, Deceased.

Add details in the activity text, with quick fills for the common cases, and record a pledge amount, a duration, and a date where they apply.

The discipline that pays off: log the outcome even when it's a no. Wrong Number and Not Interested are what stop your team calling that person three more times.
