Set Up Your Profile

Your name, your address, and which emails you want to receive.

After you create an account, we'll ask for a few details. Here's what each one is for and what we do with it.

Your name

We currently use this for one thing only: personalizing the draft emails you send to your elected officials. A message that opens with your actual name reads better than one that doesn't.

Your address

This is optional, but it's what makes most of the app useful. We use your address to look up which elected officials represent you, so we can show you how they vote on the bills in your feed.

You can add or change it later from your profile settings if you'd rather skip it for now, or if you move.

Email preferences

You choose which emails you get. The options include:

  • Updates to state bills you're tracking
  • Upcoming events
  • Comments

All of these can be turned on or off, and you can change your mind at any time from your profile settings.

One note: we aren't sending update emails for tracked bills yet. You can set the preference now, and it will apply once we start sending them.

What's next

With your address saved, head to your feed and start picking subjects you care about.
